A Calgary family's home was vandalized with BB gun fire, capturing the incident on their security cameras. The family is shaken by the experience and hopes for justice.
A Calgary family experienced a terrifying Saturday evening when their home was targeted by someone shooting BBs. Cindy Horvath, who resides in the Beddington Heights community, shared that nearly a dozen shots were fired at her house just before 10 p.m. Horvath expressed her fear, stating that her grandchildren were inside watching a movie, and the front window, which was the main target, could have been catastrophic if it had been a real firearm.
Horvath and her family discovered the incident through their security camera footage, which captured a person walking in front of their house. Later, the same individual, or someone resembling them, fired multiple shots at their residence before fleeing the scene. The footage clearly shows the BB gun attacks, leaving the family shaken and unsure why their home was targeted.Fortunately, no one was injured, but the incident caused damage to several windows and the siding of the house. Horvath immediately contacted the police, who confirmed that the damage was consistent with BB gun shots. The Calgary Police Service is actively investigating the incident and stated that if the perpetrator is apprehended, they could face charges of mischief, multiple firearms offenses, and additional bylaw infractions. The police are urging anyone with information about the case, or who may have witnessed any suspicious activity, to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.Horvath expressed her hope that the authorities can identify the individual responsible and that the case can be pursued through the justice system. She believes this will hold the perpetrator accountable and hopefully serve as a deterrent to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future
