Clarkson said this adds to the tools DI staff members have at their disposal. Staff respond to hundreds ofa month in and around the DI — more than 1,200 through April this year, nearing the full-year total for 2022 — but until now, there were no treatment options available on site. “I think with the fact that we had nothing further to offer other than naloxone, this is an incredible milestone and an advancement and enhancement of the services that we can offer,” Clarkson said. “I think it’s a great start.”
