A victim has been identified in the fatal shooting that shut down northbound interstate 880 in Oakland on Friday.
Multiple sources, including friends of the victims, tell ABC7 News that Gene Ransom of Oakland was the driver who was shot and killed while driving on the freeway.
Sources say Ransom played for the U.C. Berkeley basketball team in the 1970s, and was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 2001, according to the university's website.
