“My grandma was involved in high fashion and my mom actually did pageants. She modelled a lot in her teenage years and she inspired me to compete in Miss Teenage Canada in 2018, which I did. I didn’t place but I learned a lot from it. And I said, ‘You know what? Once I have my career, I’m going to come back stronger, and go for the biggest title.’ Which is what I’m doing now.
Four ladies will be crowned Saturday night at the pageant finale at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts as Miss Earth Canada, Miss Grand Canada, Miss Intercontinental Canada and Miss Supranational Canada, and go on to compete in international pageants..“Growing up there was a lot of pressure on me because everywhere I went people would tell me, ‘You know your parents are the kindest people,’” said Croal, the daughter of a nurse and a correctional officer.
Croal, who’s still a rookie for the next two months at her local ladder , says she didn’t have to take off any time for the pageant and her colleagues all along the way have been supportive.
