SYDNEY, N.S. – The Memorial Marauders kicked off the Cape Breton High School Hockey League regular season with a victory on the road on Tuesday.

Sam Gracie scored twice and added an assist to lead the Sydney Mines school to a 6-1 win over the Sydney Academy Wildcats at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre.Kody Hatcher found the back of the net twice, while Josh Reashore and Malcolm Hull chipped in with single markers for the Marauders .Memorial’s Andrew Forrest made 20 saves. Sydney Academy’s Brody Campbell stopped 26 of 32 shots.

Regular season action continues on Wednesday with the Riverview Ravens hosting the Glace Bay Panthers in their home opener. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. at the Cape Breton County Recreation Centre in Coxheath.C.B.
