CITY OF BURLINGTON — Time-lapse photography follows the progress of work on Burlington’s Skyway Community Centre and Park project. Pictured is activity on Nov. 1, 2023.

The $39-million project was originally scheduled for a June 1 completion this year but the city now says it should be completed in December. Burlington senior project manager Jennifer Johnson explained in a statement the delay is due to the very wet winter weather from October 2023 to March 2024, with at one point 18 days in a row of rain. That created scheduling issues and labour shortages.
