Burglars target Mexican restaurants in Tierrasanta, Rancho Bernardo [Breaking]
San Diego police were investigating two burglaries that occurred Thursday morning at Mexican restaurants in Tierrasanta and Rancho Bernardo, officials said.
In the first incident, officers responded to a report of a ringing alarm around 4:30 a.m. at the restaurant in a strip mall on Santo Road just south of state Route 52, said police Officer David O’Brien. One or more burglars apparently entered the restaurant by breaking a glass window or door at the front of the business and went through a cash register, O’Brien said. By time officers arrived no one was on scene. The second incident occurred around 5:50 a.m. at the Primos restaurant on Bernardo Center Driver near Lomica Drive.
In that case, officers arrived to find doors left open and signs that the interior had been ransacked. No one was inside, O’Brien said.
