Several signs and a building at the MUN campus in St. John’s have been defaced as tensions between the University and striking MUNFA members continue to escalate.
Similarly, a parking lot sign has been tagged with the word “fraud,” and the building itself has been spray painted with “We can play this game forever, Vianne you cannot.” Before the strike, the President of Memorial University was reasonably accessible to the media. Things have changed. The Muse, the student on-campus newspaper, says students are frustrated and concerned because of the lack of communication from the administration.Jenna Reid, Editor-in-Chief, says they have made inquiries but have not been given access to the President. Similarly, VOCM News has asked for an interview with Vianne Timmons.
