Bucknell resuming indoor masking mandate due to rising COVID-19 risk

Union County’s risk assessment for COVID-19 has been rated high by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

That high transmission rating automatically kicked in the university’s COVID-19 policies for the fall semester that require at that level masking in all public and indoor campus spaces along with the downtown shuttle.

This is the first time this fall the COVID-19 policy has had to be implemented, Bucknell spokesperson Mike Ferlazzo said. Students had been alerted by an Aug. 1 email from Dean of Students Amy Badal that CDC guidelines would be followed this fall based on COVID-19 transmission rates for Union County.
