'Bubba' Levy, Houston entrepreneur and raconteur, 88
Irvin “Bubba” Levy, who was raised a Jewish cowboy, admired as an executive, beloved for his mentorship and helped build the Houston Texans organization, died Wednesday, his family said. He was 88.
“I finally came back and got together with him, and we worked it out,” Bubba said last week as he entered hospice care.. But witnessing the financial chaos and suffering, he learned the importance of responsible, sustainable commerce. It didn’t make leaving the ranch any easier. Bubba said the Air Force expanded his perspective by sending him around the world and introducing him to people like Tibbets. He served eight years and reached the rank of major.
Through YPO, Bubba’s network grew, first as a young executive and later as a mentor holding every officer’s position at one time or another. He earned a reputation as being generous with his time and wisdom.
