Congratulations to the class of 2020!
The ceremony will stream via YouTube on June 6. The Obamas will headline and deliver individual speeches; the other speaking moments will come from BTS, Lady Gaga, former Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates, CEO of Alphabet and Google Sundar Pichai, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and, according to an official press release. BTS "and others" will also perform music at a grad night afterparty.
Meanwhile, Alicia Keys, Kelly Rowland, Kerry Washington, Chloe x Halle, and Zendaya, will make "special appearances," so there's a lot to be excited about. They'll be joined by popular YouTube creators, including Jackie Aina, AsapSCIENCE, Dude Perfect, Zane Hijazi, Heath Hussar, Mr. Kate, and The Try Guys.
The event itself is a partnership between YouTube and Michelle Obama’s Reach Higher Initiative, Born This Way Foundation, Malala Fund, TODAY, and Ideas United. The commencement schedule will apparently "feature graduates around the world, including a crowd-sourced commencement speech," according to the release.
