It’s bound to be a controversial destination and Sunday’s announcement via Big Hit Entertainment comes just days after Nicki Minaj canceled her own appearance at Jeddah World Fest later this week following pressure from Human Rights Foundation and its CEO Thor Halvorssen.
Halvorssen wrote the rapper a lengthy letter on the country’s human rights violations, its treatment of women -- including a recently-lifted ban that had previously prevented women from driving or attending events such as this festival -- and abuse of the LGBTQ community.and cancel his commitment with the July 18 Jeddah World Fest.
