He’s notched double-digit sacks in three of his last four seasons, with 2021 being the lone year he didn’t because of a back injury that limited him to one game. In 2019, recorded 13.5 sacks for the Packers, and in 2020 he had 12.5.
The new two pass rushers give the Browns one of the most formidable edge rush groups for 2023. They tied for 27th in the NFL with only 34 sacks in 2022, and after Garrett’s team-leading 16 sacks, the next leading sacker was Taven Bryan with three. The trade immediately drew rave reviews from some of the Browns, including Deshaun Watson, who tweeted double whistling emojis, and Okoronkwo, who tweeted “Let’s eat.”
