The Browns are interviewing former packers coach Mike McCarthy for their vacant head coaching position.
Kitchens was dismissed by the Browns following a disappointing 6-10 season which saw them miss the playoffs for the 17th straight year, — the NFL’s longest current drought. Cleveland also parted ways with general manager John Dorsey who was hired in December 2017.
Current Browns assistant general manager Eliot Wolf has a long-standing relationship with McCarthy from their time with the Packers where McCarthy coached for 12 seasons. During his time in Green Bay, Wolf started as the team’s pro personnel assistant and eventually climbed the ranks to become the director of football operations before joining the Browns in 2018.
The Browns have also asked for permission to interview New England offensive co-ordinator Josh McDaniels and Baltimore offensive co-ordinator Greg Roman
