BREAKING: Browns hire former Lions head coach and longtime NFL coordinator Jim Schwartz as their new defensive coordinator.
A 25-year NFL coaching veteran, he also brings 14 years’ experience as a defensive coordinator in the league: from 2001-08 with the Titans, in 2014 with the Bills, and in 2016-2020 with the Eagles.
Schwartz, 56, was the first defensive coordinator candidate to interview with the Browns. He’s the oldest and most experienced coordinator of the four candidates. He’s spent 12 years with the Titans, including the last two as senior defensive assistant under Mike Vrabel.
