“I feel like I needed that bye,” Clowney said on Friday. “That’s what I feel like. Ever since that ankle injury , it’s been lingering. Just since I had the sprained ankle back against the Jets, it’s been kind of lingering. I needed the bye to get better, you know, try to get ready for this game, too.”“It’s done me some good. Feeling better. Feeling stronger,” he said. “Just feeling like a little bit more security around my shoulder and being able to use it a little bit more.
With both feeling healthy this week, the focus turns to playing their part in slowing down Miami’s high-powered passing attack. It starts with getting to Tagovailoa, which isn’t easy. He has been sacked just eight times, only five times in his last six games. Getting hands up is key. Tagovailoa measures in at 6-foot-1, a prime candidate, one would think, for having some passes batted down.
“I think , and with Garrett playing together, that is a lot of length that the offense has to deal with, and then JD plays so disruptive in the run game and in the pass game and you can rush him inside and outside so he gives you some versatility,” head coach Kevin Stefanski said. “Particularly with our top two guys out there, there is length, which I think is tough for defenses.”
