Sizing up the best and worst from the Texans' loss to the Browns.
If you tried to come up with the quintessential Texans-Browns game, you couldn’t have envisioned what played out Sunday at NRG Stadium, with an unprecedented happening in 21 seasons of Texans football.It is rare that a team will give up 27 points at home, lose by two touchdowns and you can say the defense was great. But that was the case for the Texans on Sunday, as their defense didn’t allow a touchdown, forced two turnovers and gave up 304 total yards.
Once again, the Texans’ offensive coordinator shouldn’t bother searching his name on social media. His play-calling Sunday was downright bizarre at times, like running on consecutive plays after first-and-30 at the Cleveland 36 during the first half. Then there was the sequence with first-and-goal at the Cleveland 3 on which the Texans called four straight passes, not running once with star rookie Dameon Pierce. That led to a turnover on downs in a key sequence during this game.
