Brook Park's Wedo Park has reopened after a yearslong closure for the construction of a retention basin to curb local flooding.

Mayor Edward Orcutt addressed the attendees and highlighted the significance of the basin project, which cost roughly $2.3 million. “This here is Ward 3, for those folks that don’t know,” the mayor said, standing on the new walking path that circles the basin. “I started my political career as the Ward 3 Councilman - not a fun job, not a fun job whatsoever, especially when those days of the rains coming in here and putting water in our basements.”
