At Saturday concert, Ed Sheeran drew an audience of 65,061.
According to Chris May, general manager of B.C. Place, Sheeran drew 65,061 fans to the Vancouver venue, surpassing the previous record of 63,803 set by U2 in 2009.
“It’s our mission at the stadium to bring people together for unforgettable moments, and on this particular occasion, over 65,000 individuals came together to etch their mark in B.C. Place history. To meet this milestone in B.C. Place’s 40th anniversary year is both humbling and inspiring.” Sheeran also played an intimate theatre style gig at Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre last Friday night to rave reviews.
“We’re grateful for artists like Ed Sheeran who contribute to our city’s vibrant cultural landscape and create memorable experiences for both locals and visitors,” she said in a news release. “Congratulations to both Ed Sheeran and B.C. Place for an incredible achievement”.
