Only about one in 10 Canadians think racism is worse now than a few generations ago, according to Angus Reid Institute polling.

Far more British Columbians say society has made progress on racism, than not, according to polling conducted by the Angus Reid Institute.

The Sep. 27 poll is part of a series of polls examining the so-called “culture wars” or “woke” attitudes on race, gender and sexuality. Half of Indigenous people report experiencing discrimination “sometimes” or “often” whereas 78 per cent of visible minorities do so; this contrasts with 27 per cent of Caucasians reporting so, according to the poll. The poll also explored elements of privilege: Canadians feel being white, attractive, a man and being born in Canada are advantageous.
