We can all agree that changing the clocks twice a year is dumb.
Drew Sheneman | The Star-Ledger
What could possibly bring me, a cranky northeastern progressive to find common ground with Rubio, a conservative from Florida who desperately wants to, but will never be, the president? The scourge of Daylight Savings Time. Twice a year, for no particular reason anyone has been able to articulate to me, we move the clocks forward or backward depending on the season. Why?
Like everybody else, I’ve heard that the time shift was instituted to help farmers or something, but apparently, that’s a bunch of. The truth of the matter is I don’t care why we screw with time itself twice per annum. I’m sure there’s a competent, well-written article I could read about the practice and its deep, rich history that would clarify my thinking on the matter, but I’m not going to read it. It’s time to just set it and forget it.
