Vancouver Whitecaps bash Houston Dynamo 6-2
It took only 10 seconds for Vancouver Whitecaps striker Brian White to set a club record.
The goal was the fastest goal from the start of a half in Vancouver’s MLS history and capped a match that head coach Vanni Sartini called “literally painful.” “The difference was that in the first half, we never wanted the ball back,” he said. “In the second half, we wanted the ball back every time. And that’s a reason why we played better. It all starts from the organization.”
The equalizer fell to midfielder Julian Gressel as he leathered his shot in to the net’s roof. He scored again after Dynamo goalkeeper Steve Clark tipped a deflected shot into his path in the 59th minute.
