Atraer nuevas audiencias y seducir a un público más joven se han convertido en prioridades para el movimiento olímpicos.
Los Juegos Panamericanos no escapan a ello. El breaking, la escalada deportiva y el skateboarding serán los tres deportes de carácter urbano que debutarán en la justa de Santiago 2023, que comenzará el 20 de octubre próximo en la capital chilena. La escalada y el skateboarding debutarán como deportes olímpicos en los Juegos de Tokio 2020.
“Asegurar el éxito del debut olímpico del breaking en París queda ahora en el primer plano de la agenda de la WDSF . Nuestra actuación en París definirá el futuro de la danza deportiva en el movimiento olímpico, y será imperativo trabajar en conjunto para poder exceder las expectativas el próximo verano en la Plaza de la Concordia', dijo Shawn Tay, el presidente de la federación.
