A 1080 — three complete revolutions in the air — is one of the rarest moves in skateboarding, and it usually favors the youth.became the first rider to land a 1080 in 2012 at age 12, but used a mega ramp, which allows riders to soar higher in the air and allows for more time to complete the turns. Khury, however, needed only a standard vertical ramp to complete his feat. He sent the video to his favorite skaters, including Hawk.Khury’s father, Ricardo Khury Filho, the coronavirus pandemic that closed schools in Brazil allowed him to focus more on skating, as his training facility remained open.

"He has an opportunity to train here, if he didn’t have ... he would be stuck at home like everyone else and unable to do sport," his father said. "So the isolation helped him focus." Skateboarding will debut at the Tokyo Olympics next year, although vert will not be one of the events; the two categories will be street and park.
