RIO DE JANEIRO - Brazil recorded 42,725 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours as well as 1,185 new deaths resulting from the disease, the country’s Health Ministry said on Wednesday. Brazil has registered nearly 1.2 million cases since the pandemic began, while cumulative deaths total 53,830, according to the ministry.
