A 19-year-old man from Brampton has been sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison for a fatal car crash in King City. The crash, which occurred on February 18, 2024, resulted in the death of an 18-year-old woman and serious injuries to three other passengers. The driver, who was 18 at the time, was not injured. Police investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling at over 200 kilometers per hour before the collision.

York Regional Police said they were called to that area shortly before 7 a.m. for reports of a single-vehicle collision.They said there were six occupants in the vehicle, including an 18-year-old woman from Brampton who was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other passengers sustained serious injuries, but survived. The vehicle’s then-18-year-old driver was not hurt in the crash. Police did not provide further any details about the vehicle’s six occupant.
“Through investigation it was learned the vehicle was travelling over 200 kilometers an hour prior to the collision,” YRP said in its lastest news release announcing the sentencing. On February 3, Rose was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison. His licence was also suspended for 10 years.
