Soft landing, hard landing or financial collapse. Hire like crazy or fire like crazy.
Cut staff or hoard staff. What an interesting time to be in the employment field, and to be working or looking for work. After all, we’re all in this together.
To me, that explains why consistent hiring is still the norm, with the ratio of two jobs for every person searching still the trend. Whatever the direction you chose, this is a good time to consider new positions that offer a better salary with benefits and more flexibility. In the most recent survey I’ve seen, 80 percent of people who left their job for more money regret it and wish that they hadn’t left. Ouch.
But we’re beginning to see signs of that leveling off, and we’re aware that the balance of power won’t last forever. Nothing drastic yet, but certainly cooling off from an overheated hiring market.
