Bottcher commented on the unpredictable nature of mixed doubles, expressing satisfaction with their level-headed performance and the crucial seventh end. The trials champion will also represent Canada at the April 26-May 3 world mixed doubles championship in Fredericton, a key qualifier for the Olympics. Canada won gold in mixed doubles at the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics with John Morris and Kaitlyn Lawes. Homan and Morris, however, missed the playoffs at the 2022 Beijing Olympics
