Brown became eligible for a “supermax” contract extension after being named second-team All-NBA during the 2022 season. A “supermax” contract allows teams to pay players 35% of the NBA’s salary cap—set at just over $136 million—with an 8% increase each year. Brown, drafted by the Celtics in 2016, finished with career-highs in points and shooting percentage last season, helping lead his team to the Eastern Conference Finals.
