Surrey RCMP reacted in full force, issuing an Amber Alert over the missing child and sending officers out in search. Within around an hour, the vehicle was spotted by a citizen on the 17200-block 58 Avenue, the infant safe inside.

“There wasn’t a single RCMP officer out there this morning in Surrey that wasn’t looking for this car,” Surrey RCMP Sgt. Elenore Sturko told . “The family was absolutely, as you can imagine, distraught and concerned and very, very anxious to get reunited with their child, as any parent would be.”Article contentStolen vehicle recovered after tailing someone into an OPP detachment

The second incident occurred in Vancouver’s Chinatown last Friday and involved not just a child in the vehicle, but a mother as well. Police say a Vancouver father left his three-month-old baby and the child’s mother napping in his vehicle as he ran in to a grocery store near Keefer and Abbott Street. When the mother woke up to the car moving, she noticed it was not her baby daddy behind the wheel, but a stranger.

The accused thief, described as a white man between 25-35 years old and wearing a black winter coat with yellow trim, stopped the vehicle and took off on foot when the woman awoke.Share this article in your social network
