On Wednesday night, he hosted his ‘Stop the Violence’ celebrity basketball game at Garfield Heights High School. “When I was about 12, my best friend was murdered in Houston, Texas,” Gibson said. “From that point, basketball became my safe place so that’s kind of where I thought of the idea for this.”
