Victoria Police responded to a bomb threat at the Rock Bay Landing Shelter on Tuesday night, resulting in a swift and orderly evacuation. The Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team was activated, but no explosives were found. Residents were safely returned to the shelter after the area was cleared. Other organizations offered support, including providing additional shelter space and a warm bus.

Victoria Police and Rock Bay Landing staff say an evacuation of the building in Victoria went smoothly Tuesday night following a bomb scare at the shelter.

Police note that the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team was “activated to respond to the suspected explosive device.”. “It went really well. Everybody was fine, we received support from other places,” Robinson told CHEK News Wednesday morning.
