The Capital Regional District has issued a boil water advisory for East Sooke as the water system is experiencing cloudy water from its supplying reservoir. Affected residents are advised to boil tap water vigorously for one minute. The advisory will be lifted once health authorities confirm that the water is safe.

The Capital Regional District has issued a boil water advisory for the water system in East Sooke due to cloudy water coming from its supplying reservoir.

“Water quality may have been compromised due to high turbidity water originating from the surface water source, Wilfred Reservoir,” the CRD said in a statement. “During the water advisory household tap water may be disinfected by boiling it vigorously for one minute.” Affected residents include those on Mt. Matheson Road, Cains Way, Sea Scape Place, and Ambience Place.

The boil water advisory was issued in consultation with Island Health and will be removed when health authorities can confirm that the cloudy water does not pose a health [email protected]
