Harbour Grace RCMP received a report of an overdue snowmobiler around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6. SaltWire Network FileHARBOUR GRACE, N.L. — Searchers have recovered the body of a man who went through the ice on a snowmobile near Perry's Cove on Sunday.
Harbour Grace RCMP received a call about an overdue snowmobiler around 5:30 p.m. Shortly after, the police received information about a hole in the ice in Middle Pond, leading to suspicions that someone may have gone through it. Search and rescue crews and firefighters from the Salmon Cove/Perry's Cove, Harbour Grace and Victoria fire departments attended the scene.Police said the investigation is ongoing with help from the chief medical examiner's office.
