The body of a teen who went missing while swimming in a Gloucester County, New Jersey lake was recovered on Monday afternoon.
A Camden County dive unit and Deptford marine units responded to the scene around 9 p.m. Sunday to search Alcyon Lake on Cedar and West Holly avenues.
Officials said the other male swimming with the teen made an effort to rescue his friend, but was not able to. Police said navigating the lake is challenging. It is more than 10-feet deep in parts and it has high vegetation. Swimming is not allowed.
