TRAGIC UPDATE - The body of a 14-year-old boy who went missing over the weekend near a reservoir in Cache Valley was located by a dive team early Monday morning.
While the Cache County Sheriff's Office initially told FOX 13 News they didn't believe he fell into the water, they later said signs pointed to an"accidental event."
The Department of Public Safety Dive Team located the body of Bowden Monday morning, officials report. It's not certain the boy drowned, however, crews searched the water because it appeared to be the highest probability of where Bowden could be.Search and Rescue, K9 teams and Department of Safety helicopters participated in the search.Initially, the case was filed as a missing person situation before officials began to look in the water for the teen.
An account was opened in Bowden's name at America First Credit Union for funeral expenses and officials extended heartfelt condolences to the family and friends impacted by the loss.
