RCMP say the investigation is still ongoing.
A body was reportedly found in the Coquitlam River Friday, Oct. 25, near the location of where 59-year-old Robert Belding was last seen on Sunday, Oct. 20.
RCMP have yet to confirm the identity of the body, explaining that the missing person's case remains "active and ongoing." On Thursday, Oct. 25, SAR wrote in a social media post that air, ground, K9 and drone crews were utilized, and neighbouring SAR teams were called in to help. A witness reported seeing Belding fall into the Coquitlam River as he tried to rescue a dog, and was "immediately swept away," Coquitlam SAR spokesperson Ian MacDonald said Wednesday, Oct. 23.
