The bodies of three mountaineers who were swept away by a large avalanche in Banff National Park have been recovered.
In a statement, officials extended their condolences to the families, friends and loved ones of the victims. The agency responded immediately when the climbers went missing mid-week and, based on their initial assessment of the scene, it was concluded the three members of the party were deceased. The following day The North Face confirmed the identities of the trio, who were members of its Global Athlete Team.
