ARCH, a non-profit hospice in the Algoma District, is seeking dedicated individuals to join its Board of Directors. ARCH provides end-of-life palliative and supportive care, including a Supportive Care program and an Early Resource Nurse Coordinator program focused on Advance Care Planning. The Board plays a crucial role in overseeing ARCH's strategic direction and ensuring the delivery of quality compassionate care.
Board Director – effective the 2025-2026 season.ARCH is a 10-bed, non-profit hospice where individuals receive palliative and supportive care at the end of their journeys. It is ARCH’s mission to provide quality, compassionate care at the end-of-life, with a vision of supporting comfortable end-of-life experiences for all.
Although ARCH is partially Ministry-funded, a significant portion of operational needs requires fundraising. Although the necessity to fundraise is at times a challenge, it supports the very ownership of the hospice by its supportive Algoma Communities, to which ARCH is accountable. ARCH is amidst a multi-year Strategic Plan that is highlighted by pillars promoting leadership in compassion, capacity-building, caring for the caregivers, and of course, comforting those we serve.Commitment: As one of 12 volunteer Board Members, there are 9 regular meetings per year, the AGM and quarterly attendance of one sub-committee is preferred . The first board meeting will commence in September 2025. The term is 3 years, with the option to continue for a second term.
