The 38-year-old from Simcoe, Ont., pitched nine games for the triple-A Buffalo Bisons giving up just two hits and one run with 14 strikeouts over 10 2/3 innings.

Axford returns to the Brewers organization where he led the National League in saves in 2011 with 46.
