Blue Jays option infielder Gurriel Jr. to triple-A Buffalo, call up Sogard Globe_Sports
. He is hitting just .175 this season and was taken out of Toronto’s 8-4 loss to Tampa Bay on Sunday after a throwing error in the second inning.
Sogard is batting .267 with a home run and six runs batted in over nine games with Buffalo this season.To make room on the 40-man roster, the Blue Jays transferred left-handed pitcher Ryan Borucki to the 60-day injured list with left elbow inflammation.The announcement came before the Blue Jays kicked off a four-game road series with the Minnesota Twins on Monday.
