ANAHEIM, Calif. — Will Wagner was inserted into the Toronto Blue Jays lineup at second base and batting sixth for his major-league debut Monday against the Los Angeles Angels.
Wagner lined the first pitch he saw, a second-inning fastball from Angels right-hander Davis Daniel, into the right-centre field gap for a double. Wagner is primarily a second baseman with experience at first and third base. Offensively, he is known as a line-drive hitter with 25 home runs in 290 minor-league games.
