'It’s a big challenge but me and Jonesy and our D corps is really excited about it.' Zach Werenski and Blue Jackets teammates are looking forward to taking on the Maple Leafs' dynamic forwards.

Blue Jackets defencemansaid Friday during an appearance on Hockey Central that he and his teammates are “excited” to take on the likes of Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, John Tavares and William Nylander.

Werenski forms a dynamic top pair with American compatriot Seth Jones and the duo is expected to log heavy minutes against Toronto’s imposing top-six. “Everyone in the league and everyone who watches hockey, everyone knows how talented they are offensively,”on Sportsnet 590 The Fan. “When you go up against the best players in the world, as a defenceman, that’s your job to try and shut them down. It’s a big challenge but me and Jonesy and our D corps is really excited about it.

“Anytime you can go up against the best players in the world it’s always fun and they have a few of them on their team.
