Blue Jackets defenceman Seth Jones is heading to injured reserve with an ankle injury.

Jones joins a long list of injured Blue Jackets who are out long term while the team fights for a playoff spot. That list includes forwards Alexander Wennberg, Alexandre Texier, Josh Anderson and Brandon Dubinsky; defencemen Dean Kukan and Ryan Murray; and goaltender Joonas Korpisalo.

Jones — along with Zach Werenski — leads the Blue Jackets defence corps in basically every category. Jones appeared in his third all-star game earlier this season and has 30 points in 56 games. In other Blue Jackets news, the team recalled London Knights co-captain Liam Foudy from the OHL on Monday on an emergency basis. The team did not disclose the reason for the move, but Foudy could make his NHL debut Monday against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Foudy, 20, has 43 points in 32 OHL games this season and won gold with Canada at the World Junior Championship.
