Blue Ivy's grandmother, Ms. Tina Lawson, shared her granddaughter's mini science lesson to Instagram with the caption, "Blue’s PSA My brilliant granddaughter Blue did this experiment to show how washing your hands fights the virus. ❤️🙏🏾." In the cutest little voice, Blue Ivy walks us through her experiment, for which she used only water, pepper, and a mixture of soaps.
Prior to filming, she added black pepper to a bowl of water to represent COVID-19 "or any virus." Blue Ivy then dips her finger into the soap mixture and then into the bowl of water. When her finger touches the water, the pepper is immediately repelled away from it. A similar thing happens to viruses and germs when you wash your hands with soap; it helps remove them from your skin.
Handwashing has become a major focus for us all since COVID-19 swept the world. It's forced people to be more mindful of the surfaces they touch every day and to cleanse their hands more frequently. If you weren't convinced of the importance of handwashing before, then we hope this tutorial changed your mind.
