Blake Lively's granny nails are bound to inspire a whole new kind of nail art trend.
Posting a photograph of a fresh manicure on her Instagram Stories, Lively showed off oval-shaped nails bearing mustard, maroon, pink, and green floral nail art, which the actor dubbed “antique grandma wallpaper”. Thanking celebrity nail stylist,, for the new design, it may have all the hallmarks of old, ’70s-style brocade wallpaper, but it sure looks good on Lively. Call them granny nails, effortlessly elevated for 2022.
In the post, Lively tagged House of Hackney, a British interiors, fashion and lifestyle brand that is known for its patterned prints, which suggests that the pair were inspired by one of the brand’s wallpapers. While there are myriad different styles on the House of Hackney website,, which pays homage to chinoiserie and features a similar color palette.
All this goes to say, next time you hit the nail salon or see your favorite technician, make like Blake Lively and think outside of the box.
