Passengers at Blackpool station have been evacuated this morning for safety reasons.
Northern has confirmed on social media that the train station in the seaside town has been evacuated. It has been confirmed that this is due to a suspicious package that was found. Rail passengers have reported they are stuck on trains just outside of the station because of the incident. No timescale has been given about when the station will be back open.
Confirming the news on Twitter, a Northern spokesperson replied to a passenger and said: "A safety evacuation has taken place due to a suspicious package, sadly we do not have a timescale for this at present."
