Chilliwack Chiefs coming to PG to face Kings on Saturday
After losing four straight on the road, including a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Blackfalds Bulldogs Tuesday at the BCHL Showcase in Abbotsford, the Prince George Spruce Kings are looking forward to some home cooking again. The Bulldogs got a power-play goal from Jamie Darlison in the opening period and Joey Melo scored while shorthanded a minute into the second period.
That was all the offence needed to lift the Alberta-based Bulldogs to their first win of the season. Ethan Montroy scored his team-leading seventh goal to cut the deficit in half for the Spruce Kings but that was all they could muster. Montroy, a 19-year-old native of Cornwall, Ont., also leads the Kings with 10 points.PG native Ryder Green took the loss in net, making 30 saves.
The Spruce Kings will host the Chilliwack Chiefs in their next game on Saturday at Kopar Memorial Arena.
