Bishop's captures elusive CIF title in girls lacrosse; Mt. Carmel, El Cap crowned champions

Sophomore Natalie Marvin pushes Bishop's past Carlsbad for Division I CIF championship; big drama in Divisions II, III finals

Twice, Bishop’s played for a San Diego Section girls lacrosse championship. Both times, in 2017 and last season, the Knights fell short.

“It just felt amazing,” said Marvin, who scored 88 goals this season. “This has been our goal, and for it to become reality is amazing, insane.” The jitters didn’t last long. Mt. Carmel scored 11 of the next 12 goals and romped to a 15-7 win. The game marked the first time Mt. Carmel played in a championship match. The Sundevils lost in the semifinals the previous two years.Bailey Phan led Mt. Carmel with five goals and two assists. Good and Avery Brand each scored four goals. Emily Engler led OLP with three goals.
