Thunderbird Wildlife Rescue holds a 50/50 draw quarterly to raise funds for the raptor rescue.
THUNDER BAY — Funding a non-profit bird rescue is no easy feat, but Jenn Salo hopes a quarterly 50/50 draw will help keep things moving.
The second draw of the year netted both Thunderbird Wildlife Rescue and the winner, Gail Herbert-Miller, over $13,000. Salo, an authorized wildlife custodian, said they'll use the funds to "chip away" at the work that needs to be done at the sanctuary. "It's really exciting to be at this point in the game where we're able to now move forward and start focusing on more enclosures for the pre-release part of rehabilitation for the animals.""It really renews my spirit in climbing this giant mountain of stuff that needs to be done to make this rescue into reality.
"I feel confident that I now know exactly what it's going to take to get the place up and running. I know exactly what it's going to take to make this place beautiful again."
